Thermally activated magnetic reversal induced by a spin-polarized current.
We have measured the statistical properties of magnetic reversal in nanomagnets driven by a spin-polarized current. Like reversal induced by a magnetic field, spin-transfer-driven reversal near room temperature exhibits the properties of thermally activated escape over an effective barrier. However, the spin-transfer effect produces qualitatively different behaviors than an applied magnetic fie...

We have measured the circular polarization of light emitted from both atomic H and molecular H2 after bombarding H2 with longitudinally polarized electrons. For both atomic and molecular fluorescence near threshold we observe a circular polarization as great as 10% of the electron polarization. This represents the first direct observation of spin transfer in electron-molecule collisions.
متن کاملJosephson Current For a Graphene Nanoribbon Using a Lattice Model
A tight binding approach based on the Bogoliubov-de Gennes approach has been used to calculate the DC Josephson current for a lattice model for S-GNR-S junctions , for short junctions with respect to superconducting coherence length. We calculate the phase, length, width and chemical potential dependence at the Josephson junction and discuss the similarities and differences with regard to the t...

متن کاملTransport characteristics of a silicene nanoribbon on Ag(110)
We present the transport characteristics of individual silicene nanoribbons (SiNRs) grown on Ag(110). By lifting up a single SiNR with a low-temperature scanning tunneling microscope tip, a nanojunction consisting of tip, SiNR and Ag is fabricated. In the differential conductance spectra of the nanojunctions fabricated by this methodology, a peak appears at the Fermi level which is not observed...
